Jarno Koponen (Design)

Jarno has been working as a digital media designer and researcher for the last 10 years. He has led and contributed to a wide variety of internet service projects. Jarno completed his Masters research at the Media Lab in Aalto University on “personal futures”. He continues to drive his creative energy into designing experiences and interfaces that augment our personal and collective future thinking.

Wojtek Kulik (Development)

Wojtek is a software developer and researcher with more than 7 years of experience. His focus is recommendation and prediction algorithms – infamously, he was a member of “The Ensemble” team, the first runner-up in the million dollar “Netflix Prize” algorithm contest. Most recently, he was collaborating with Polar Rose (the Swedish startup acquired by Apple) where he was playing with face detection and recognition algorithms. He loves difficult problems and challenges.

Kimmo Kulovesi (Development)

Kimmo studied Computer Science at the University of Helsinki. He is the rare breed that excels at understanding big data problems from the user interface through to the infrastructure. His previous work was as a developer in a large-scale effort to mine biological & genetic data (the Biomine project). Now he is applying his deep knowledge on data modeling and interfaces to help bring ‘predictive discovery’ to life.

Janne Puustelli (Development)

Janne has a Masters in Mathematics from the Tampere University of Technology and over 10 years experience in IT systems, software development, and Linux admin. He thrives on solving challenging mathematical problems, and has spent time teaching the gifted minds at Päivölä School of Mathematics. After three years heading architecture at a German search startup, he is back in Finland to build new ways for people to discover their environment.

Lassi Maksimainen (Development)

Lassi has over 12 years of experience working on mobile & cloud-based solutions; both as a software developer and driving tech/product strategy. He has a Master’s in Information Technology from the Tampere University of Technology. Massively-scalable data architectures are delicious and nutritious – Lassi thinks.

Marko Anderson (PM/Biz)

Marko has spent the last decade working with mobile software in Europe, North America and Asia. A product guy at heart, he has been through ‘idea to launch’ numerous times in a variety of roles. Before Futureful, he was at Nokia working with mobile platforms, user data and predictive analytics.
